| Apple woes |
[Oct. 2nd, 2009|06:05 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | blah | ] | As some may know I have been back in London for the past few days, and in general have been having a rather good time, catching up with a few old friends and generally enjoying myself.
Today my parents and I went out to Greenwich to the National Maritime Museum, Royal Observatory and New London Planetarium. It was a wonderful day, the view was impressive from the top of the hill the observatory was on. The planetarium show itself was quite underwhelming but it wasn't that expensive so that's alright.
The woe is that I appear unable to own more than one Apple product for more than about a month, having recently replaced my iPhone after the first one was pinched while I was quite drunk, my iPod this time slipped out of my jacket pocket and fell onto the path without my notice. My parents being of the more sedate kind were some paces behind me and noticed the iPod in its leather cover a little time afterwards but didn't put 2 and 2 together, when I noticed the disappearance we went and had a look but some kindly passer by had obviously helped himself.
So I wave goodbye to yet another apple product, my iPhone has insufficient space for all my music, but i'll have to wait before replacing my iPod. My store will apparently start selling the bleeding things again, so I might hold on and see what sort of discount I can get on them! |

| A tale of phone woe.. |
[May. 19th, 2009|11:12 pm] |
For those who don't know my phone has been quite beat up for some time. Several months ago the on off button feel off and I had had to push the little thing underneath that it pressed on to begin with. About a month later that little button got jammed and I was then only capable of turning my phone on by jamming a knife in and pushing the little box, the little button was in, towards the main circuit board of the phone. I didn't like doing that so it became my mission to make sure my phone never ran out of battery. Between then and now, the little box fell off and out, went missing in one way or another, unsurprisingly really. This evening I ran out of battery, and whatever I try I can't get it to turn back on...
In short I have no mobile and therefore cannot be contacted on said equipment. If you need me, text Jim/Katy who should be able to nudge me!
Hopefully I can get it fixed, that would be nice as I wouldn't have to get everyones number again! |

At sometime during the night my iPhone was stolen....

| It's ma birthday! |
[Jun. 16th, 2008|09:31 pm] |
To all those in Cardiff!
A few things will be happening shortly, firstly me and the rest of the guys at Talworth Street will be moving out and around Cardiff, with our final destination being 62 Diana Street... secondly my birthday is almost upon us!
So I would like to cordially invite you all to Talworth Street on Sunday 29th June, for some beers and some singstar and other such merriments! To celebrate my birthday and bid farewell to the house!
And before you ask, I would have preferred to do it on the Saturday but that is when the WFRP LARP is kinda making that a little unfeasible! |

[May. 3rd, 2008|12:02 pm] |
For those that might be interested HMV are doing a taty litle deal at the moment,
For the princely sum of £10 you can pre-order the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Collectors Edition Box Set, with this you get a guaranteed Open Beta Key, a live game head start allowing you to play the game on the official servers some weeks before the general public get to, you also get two exclusive items for use in game, and the princely sum of £10 pounds off the game when you buy it.
Seemed like a fairly good deal to me!

| Life and a meme |
[Nov. 22nd, 2007|04:14 am] |
| [ | mood |
| | cheerful | ] | Been a while since I last posted, but since then I have become gainfully employed. I am currently working for game where I fully intend to make full use of their 25% staff discount on just about everything, so things are looking up. I get to see Bill Bailey this weekend which should be brilliant fun, and then next weekend I shall be in hopefully cold and miserable San Diego, preferably not burning on fire San Diego, where I shall be taking part in the World of Warcraft TCG World Championships... it doesn't get much geekier in my mind, but I revel in it, normally I wouldn't have bothered but the prize moeny I should get there without too much difficulty should at least pay for the trip, and it'll be a good experience.
Christmas is looming on the horizon now, so I need to start getting gifts and I am as ever feeling uninspired, so any suggestions of cool things will not be unapreciated, on the other hand I was recently back home visiting my parents, and I got possibly my most dreaded question... "What would you like for Christmas?" especially when in the realm of my family, I have absolutely no idea. I can't ask them for roleplaying books as they just don't understand the concept nor indeed would they know where to begin, I'd probably end up with Rifts books and I can't even stand it when my housemate even looks at his copies let alone read them myself, DVD's always feel to me as a bit of a cop out when it comes to family, we should know each other better than having to resort to DVDs, with Roleplaying books see also, computer games and books. So I usually come out with 'Suprise me' or 'Something interesting...' which aren't terribly helpful.

Well it has been an unfortunate week this week really.
I screwed up bad.
I won't go into details but essentially I got fired from where i was working and this has closed certain doors to me. It all alas as well stems from one silly stupid mistake I made. So it is nose back to the grindstone for me.
Last weekend was a bit of a disapointment too, I went to Gencon UK and found it to be very lacking in thingsI had exepected including the ridiculous entry fee of £20 per day. There were some highlights, testing out Eye of Judgement was cool but it is a bit of a novelty more than anything else, as I was playing in a UFS tournament I didn't get to see as much on the saturday as I would have liked as there was a thing about 4th Ed DnD and some stuff about the 40k roleplaying game. It was good to catch up with some folks I hadn't seen in a while though.
I grabbed a copy of Shattered Hope, which was the demo adventure for the 40k roleplaying game that was there, it is my plan to run it on a wednesday in the near future. If I get excessive interest I might even go so far as to run it more than once.
In other roleplaying news my Heroes of Battle game seems to be going well and everyone is enjoying themselves, they overcame a big hurdle lask week by defeating the Scourge of Law, a heavily advanced Entropic Reaper, so things are going well for them. There will be no session this weekend due to a lack of Lex as she is in Rome currently.
I finished Bioshock this week which was cool, it had a few issues, it really isn't long eonugh or hard enough, the last boss was nothing short of a joke, pathetically easy to defeat. I might try it again soon using only the wrench that might make it a little more challenging. It is still very enjoyable.
Still chin up and soldier on! |

Well its been a while... like usual, my birhtday has been and gone with little to no fanfare which is how I generally prefer it, and life continues on.
In finding work there have been ups and downs, a job that I looked certain for fell through which was disappointing because I was all psyched up for it and it looked like a really good opportunity. But hey not everything can work out perfectly. Tomorrow I have an interview for a job, it is the sort of thing I'd like to do and it pays well but it has long hours and is in Bridgend so it isn't ideal, but we'll see how things turn out.
In other news I am really enjoying WoW again. I go through phases but it has caught me again, and my 360, I love it and over the next few months there are so many games coming out soon which will be good. Bioshock, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Halo 3 so its looking up there. Normally I would prefer to paly FPS on a pc but mine just doesn't cut it any more, and I can't afford to upgrade it. Mainly because I decided I wanted a giant flat screen tv instead.
Roleplaying wise itis being good fun, tohugh I feel like i'm not playing enough D&D the Worlds Largest Dungeon continues on and I am now playing with a Suel Archanamach, we are level 10 and it is only my 5th character. Exalted is generally good, but I am all up for more circle based play rather than the war that we have been conducting, and perhaps some things that are more challenging. Star Wars is also good fun the new Saga ruleset is much better than the previous set and things seem to be going on smoothly. Scion is interesting definitely but having had only one session its hard to say. Finally my game, has been going well in my opinion, last night the players found out a few more bits and pieces and suffered the unfortunate loss of one of their cohorts *rubs hands with glee* I have plans!
SO all in all life continues on much as it has! |

In an effort to get people together to celebrate. Anyone is welcome to pop over Saturday evening for drinks... prefferably lots, say around 8ish.
Also i'd like to suggest during the day some sort of board game fun, like the Game of Thrones board game or the V:TR board game etc, any interest reply here!
As you can gather the Heroes of Battle game will take place on Sunday not Saturday. |

In other news I am slightly ill yet, tonight was the Yule Ball, so I made my way down anyway. The meal was great, and as the evening went on I began to feel better. The came the music and the dancing, the music started off badly.... making me want to leave, but it then became cheesy and fun, so I stayed and danced and looked like a pratt all in the name of entertainment.
All in all a very good night, appart from a couple of things I would have done differently had I been organising it. |
